With all the annoying error message I got the last few days, this is exactly how I feel!
And as far as the poking with the sharp stick, I have some nice, sharp Global knives which might do the trick

Just wait till it comes to running the task under SQL Agent!
I eventually got my job to run on a schedule, packed up left the site (No remote access). The next day get a call that it failed. No error codes – Surprise!
I have tracked it down to the fact that the job runs when a user is logged in but not otherwise even when it is being run by the scheduled agent!
I now have another 6 hour round trip to try and fix it.
Pass the knives!
